Welcome to the Official Alumni Lacrosse Website!
The 2008 Alumni Lacrosse Tournament will take place on September 13th! So start getting you team sponsors together ($1500). We are expecting this years' tournament to be bigger, so get your teams in early. Maryland, Towson and Virginia have already commited to playing again. And we will continue to have the NCAA All-Starz team for those of you who don't have your respective alumni present but still want to play.
The first year of The ALT was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out and got involved. We were able to accomplish our goals of catching up with old faces, playing a little lacrosse, raising a little money and having a hell of a good time. Kudos to those guys who drove extreme distances to be there. More kudos to everyone who suited up and got out on the field. Towson made the most of the day, beating Maryland and Virginia. They also were instrumental in helping the happy hour prosper with the addition of their custom Bag 'O' game. Finally, to everyone who stayed after the games were over and just plain hung out, it was an unbelievable day! 2008 year should be even better. Think camping. I can't wait to see you all again soon. Stay tuned for Pictures!
La-
The goal of this tournament is provide Alumni, both players and fans, an opportunity to
get back together, strap on the pads, play some lacrosse, catch up with some old friends
and raise some money for certain organizations that do great things for the community
and the greater good. This year we will be donating the proceeds to Genesee Valley
Outdoor Learning Center, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit who serves the community at large
throughout Maryland and other surrounding states. It's places like Genesee Valley that
help make our world a better place to live in. Another portion of the proceeds will go to
the Dick Edell Gift Trust. This is a fund set up to help "Big Man" afford some of the costs
associated with his illness. Big Man is an icon for the Maryland Lacrosse program and
those who know him or played for him know what an extrodinary person Coach Edell is.
Many thanks to all who have helped get this event off the ground! See you soon.
